PENSACOLA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Student Disclosure Statement
NAME (Please Print) ____(LAST)___(FIRST)___(MIDDLE)___(I.D. NUMBER)___
I have received the Student handbook for the 2001-2002 school year and acknowledge that I am responsible to read
and abide by the policies therein and to be in harmony with the spirit of Pensacola Christian College. I will be
an encouragement to others by abiding by the policies of the College.
I understand that attendance at Pensacola Christian College is a privilege and not a right. Students forfeit this
privilege if they do not conform to the standards and ideals of work and life of the College, and the College may
insist on the withdrawal of a student at any time that the student, in the opinion of the College, does not conform
to the spirit of the ministry.
I understand it is the policy of Pensacola Christian College, Inc., to reserve the right to communicate with my
parents, legal guardians, or pastor, and at its discretion, to fully disclose the details of any situation affecting
my status as a student or summer worker of Pensacola Christian College. Pensacola Christian College's Clinic (operated
by Baptist Hospital) also reserves the right to release information regarding my Medical Records to my parents,
legal guardians, or to officials within the College. My signature acknowledges my agreement with these policies
and grants my irrevocable permission for release of this information as stipulated.
I understand that the college catalog contains current information regarding the calendar, admissions, degree requirements,
fees, regulations, and course offerings, and that Pensacola Christian College reserves the right to withdraw a
course at any time; change room and board, tuition, and other fees; change the calendar and rules regarding admission
and graduation requirements; and change any other regulations affecting the student body. Changes shall become
effective whenever the proper authorities so determine and shall, at the discretion of such authorities, apply
not only to prospective students but also to those who at that time are matriculated in the College. Pensacola
Christian College has never made application for regional accreditation because the College believes it could jeopardize
the College's philosophical distinctives. It is the practice of Pensacola Christian College, and other colleges
and universities, to accept or reject credits based on their own institutional criteria regardless of whether or
not that particular school transferring credit is accredited. Pensacola Christian College desires that each enrolling
student complete his degree program with this institution: however, if a student wishes to transfer to another
institution at any point in time, it is the student's responsibility to confirm whether or not credits will be
accepted by another college of the student's choice. Pensacola Christian College has attained a high reputation
for excellence in the academic disciplines and has found that a student's personal academic performance and achievement
are important in seeking transfer to another institution or admission to graduate school. Recognition of academic
credit for graduate study in other institutions has seldom been an insurmountable problem. While Pensacola Christian
College makes no representation that its graduates will be acceptable by specific institutions or boards, it is
the intent of the administration and faculty to meet and exceed standards of quality in academics, which are posed
by recognized accrediting associations. Pensacola Christian College admits students of any race, color, and national
origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students
at the College. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, and national origin in the administration
of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered
programs. Some policies may vary for male and female students for safety and personal security reasons.
I understand that Pensacola Christian College does not provide an on-campus infirmary and that I will rest and
recover from any illness or injury in my residence hall room without supervised medical attention. A nurse is available
at PCC's Clinic during certain hours. Baptist Healthsource is also available by telephone 24 hours a day and is
staffed with registered nurses to provide advice and is staffed with registered nurses to provide advice and facilitate
a doctor's appointment. If I am not able to rest and recover from an illness or injury in my residence hall room
without supervised medical attention, it will be my responsibility to either return home or to make other arrangements
at an off-campus medical facility until such a time that I have sufficiently recovered to return to normal campus
activity.
Cell phones, pagers, or any other similar devices that utilize devices that utilize cellular or wireless technology
for the purpose of receiving or transmitting telephone calls, pager messages, E-mail, Internet, or any other electronic
message may not be used on the campus of Pensacola Christian College. Students may have a standard cell telephone
(without E-mail or Internet service), provided it remains in their automobile and is not used on PCC property.
PCC reserves the right to check the computer files on any personal computer on campus if, in the opinion of the
administration, it is reported or suspected that said files or related medium may be in violation of the policies
and standards of the College.
I indemnify and save Pensacola Christian College, Inc., its employees, and agents harmless from any liability or
medical expenses resulting from any sickness, accident, or injury while participating in any activity, on or off
campus. When I use any of the College facilities (i.e. the swimming pool, gym, weight room, tennis courts, Sports
Center, etc.) or participate in any activity, I do so at my own risk. I understand and agree that Pensacola Christian
College, Inc., is not responsible for my medical expenses and that Pensacola Christian College, Inc., does not
provide accident or medical insurance to cover medical expenses should I become sick or injured. I am responsible
for medical expense and will file any medical claim with my own insurance company or pay the cost myself.
I further agree that should I take any legal action against Pensacola Christian College, Inc., or its employees
or agents, I will reimburse them for any attorney fees, court fees, damages or other costs they incur to defend
themselves against such action if it is determined they are not found at fault.
In the event that a Pensacola Christian photographer or video camera person takes a picture with me in it, either
singly or in a group, I give permission for my picture to be used in future brochures, videotapes, or other publications
of Pensacola Christian College, Inc., or A Beka Book, Inc.
